ACTLab Promo

Brainstorming for spreading the ACTLab word around campus
- Get in touch with advisors - outside of RTF/Comm to spread the word through the grass roots
- Academic Advisors have fairly regular group meetings, maybe we could sweettalk the head of one of these meetings into sparing a few minutes for a growing program?
- Academic Advisors / Coordinators at the undergrad and grad levels also have a variety of mailing lists we might be able to hitch a ride on
- Key is to point out the ACTLab as an elective option "perfectly tailored" to their students need - whether its a creative major, a technical major, or other
- One thing to keep in mind with our advertising - our classes are already overstuffed like so many cannoli - where are we gonna put the students?
- More classes are the obvious answer - but who to teach them?
- Have students take special projects with Sandy
- Joey has his MA, makes him eligible to be an AI (Assistant Instructor) under the supervision of a fo realz professor (ideally Sandy), but an AI can only teach lower-division undergrads, as far as I know. Could we convince the dept to make an RTF 319: ACTLab that would allow a lower barrier to entry for the 'lab?
- Brandon also has an MA - him and Joey might be eligible consideration as Lecturers, who can teach upper division undergrads, IE the normal ACTLab courses, but not graduate students.
- Could we convince a like-minded professor in another dept to help out?
- Extra classes and extra instructors would segue nicely into our goal of a true ACTLab program / degree plan.
