Description Of The Problems With Bugs and Breakdowns

Bugs and breakdowns will always be a problem with computers. As many of you know, there is no such thing as bug free software and computer breakdowns can occur at any given time. We have designed these pages to serve as a means of teaching people about bugs and breakdowns, not how to prevent them. We have provided case studies and real life examples to help in making these problems relevant to you. The following are a few defintions and examples:

Bugs: a mistake in the software or hardware of a computer system. The more complex the application, the more likely it is that bugs will occur.

Breakdowns: a computer error caused by too much data and too many conflicting signals, i.e. a crash.
