Japanese animation is an entertainment galaxy unto itself. This unique artform covers a wide spectrum of genres, from science-fiction, to adult drama, to horror, to little girls shows. This increasingly internationally respected medium grew out of Japan's indigenous comic publishing universe. Japanese comics, called manga, are the most prolific form of comics in the world.
