New Communication Technology

I am studying the new electronic media and the technology that makes them possible at the department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin. This new field encompasses many channels. Among them are multimedia, the Internet, virtual reality, and digital satelite technology. My main area of research is fiction in networked multimedia.

An excellent reference to the enabling technologies behind these various communications media is the Communication Technology Update, a book that has become the standard reference for communication technology. It is edited by University of Texas Communications Proffessor Dr. August Grant.
