Project 1: This is dinner?

For my first project I used a variety of alternative ingredients to create uncanny representations of familiar and edible foods. I intended for the experience with real tuna nigiri and my guava jelly powdered rice crispy nigiri remodeling to be uncanny

—Brain Storming process—

One late night amongst the thoughts of semi dreams, I had a storming of food ideas. Down went a variety of options in my half-sleep state. I settled upon these three:

-Mint Chocolate chip Ice cream, Tuna nigiri, and Fish Eye-


1) Mint Chocolate Chip Ice CreamSUCCESS–>FAILURE

-ingredients: Ice Cream (peeled mashed potatoes), Mint coloring (juice from celery),
: Chocolate chips (chopped black olives)

2) Nigiri TunaSUCCESS 1

-ingredients: Tuna (1st attempt: Red jello, red wine and red powde)

Successful attempt: Guava jelly)

Rice (Rice crispy treats, powdered sugar, white icing)

3) Trout Fish Eye SUCCESS 2

-ingredients: Fish Eye (peeled grape, coconut jelly, black tapioca pearls, dentist cup)
