This is Jouko Marttila's home page. I dove into the net while studying
at the University of Texas in Austin for the fall semester 1995.
As you can see in the
picture, life was pretty hard in Texas: the weather was too hot and the
water in
Lake Travis too warm, but fortunately the beer was cold enough.
I was inspired to surf the net by one of my
classes, the Challenges of Multimedia
instructed by professor Sandy
Stone. I also studied electronic editing and economics, which
relate to my work as an economics correspondent at the Finnish Broadcasting Co. (YLE) in Helsinki,
Finland. I'm producing and
presenting a weekly 20 minute business and
economics magazine for the national network TV1. The programme is part of the
Current Affairs Department of YLE called A-studio.
On my web pages I've collected some pieces of information about myself and
my family. I've also tried to find some useful links for those people who
might share some interests with me.
