Watch Nightlife the Series!
Tim Sanderson, Darren Scharff, and a bunch of other Austin hipsters shot a film in 2004-2005. In 2007 they released Nightlife on an unsuspecting public. Had our popular culture reached a vampire saturation point where we were thirsty for a mockumentary? I don't know, but I think it's a good flick. In 2010, the boys at Damfino decided to dice up the extra-extended director's cut version into a web series, and... voila! Check it out at www.nightlifetheseries.com
Here's episode 8, which features a young(er) Christian Huey as... I'm not sure what I am.
Daniel Ellsberg gets another amateur documentary
Nothing huge. Ken Burns needs to get on this anyway. But I made this short project about Daniel Ellsberg, the Pentagon Papers guy for a class project in Education Technology.
Party of Five wraps, Swardson yawns
Yes, Nick Swardson was in the house last Tuesday for the final performance of The Institution Theater's production of "Party of Five." I don't think he was actually in the audience, though. He was too busy staring out the front window of The Highball at the marquee for his new movie. Or maybe he wanted to spend time with friends and family. Lame.
Anyhoo, Rowana Flowers was kind enough to hold my FlipCam and record the August 23 performance. All will be posted at YouTube. In the meantime, check out our dance scene.
Profiles in Teaching

Hey, all. I'll be producing at least two five-minute videos this fall at Texas State University as part of their "Profiles in Teaching" series. In September, I'm going to interview Dr. Susan Day in the university's sociology department.
For some past productions (not done by me), check 'em out here.
You can still get tickets to Teen Angst Tuesdays: Party of Five!
That's right! We're doing three more Tuesdays, from August16 through August 30 at the Highball. Do it! Get tix here. Watch me dance (really!) like a Swayz. You say it without the "e."
Teen Angst Tuesdays starring me and others

Christian is honored to be a part of the high-art trashing of low-art of teen dramas. Or
do I have that reversed? Surely any show that features the "boner alert" can't be too classy. Or is it ironic? The truth is you don't care, and you will be deeply entertained seeing Christian as Claire Dane's denim shirt-wearing dad in our pseudo-improvised episode of "My So-Called Life," running four Tuesdays all throughout June at the Highball in south Austin. Directed by Tom Booker of The Institution Theatre.
Yay! My "Welcome Back, Lazarus" sketch was performed at the Hyde Park theatre May 22 by the Institution Theatre.
Don Quixote Friends n’ Family show!
Hey, friends and family. Here's the performance we did for allsy'all on April 17, 2011.
Teatro Flojo presents the Adventures of Don Quixote!
Over at the Wizard Academy (www.wizardacademy.org), the lovely and talented Monica Ballard will direct the lovely and talented Christian Huey, Ryan Hill, and Brett Weaver in a whimsical little play Monica whipped up called "Teatro Flojo Presents the Adventures of Don Quixote." Imagine three neurotic goofballs narrating the Cliff Notes to Don Quixote. Or better, don't imagine it. Because you can see it. There will be a performance Sunday April 17, and Saturday April 23. Magnifico!
Dancing with the big boys?
If by dancing, you mean writing sketch comedy, and by big boys you mean Tom Booker, then yes. I'm doing that. Full disclosure--it's not like I've been hired on by Esther's Follies or anything. It's just a comedy sketch writing class I'm taking, but there will be a real-life performance eventually. I swear.
Interested in doing the same? Watch me pimp Tom Booker and the Institution Theatre! Check out the Institution Theatre and take one of their awesome comedically-based classes! (see?)
