I am a recent RTF graduate at the University of Texas, here in beautiful Austin. I currently work at the local CBS affiliate station, where my responsibilities include: commercial editor, master control, graphics, studio camera, tape op., and webmaster. I have done my best to gain as much experience in all facets of production in college and out, and hope to share it with others. My motto is: commitment and determination to learning all you can and never doubting your own abilities can and will lead to the achievement of your goals.

Why Umatic? Well, my using Umatic as the theme of the site is mostly from my devotion to the 3/4" U-Matic tape format. Hey, every editor has got their favorite format, and mine just happens to be a classic. Introduced to this world by Sony even before I was, the 3/4" format has seen many new formats take its place in popularity, but it still is not counted out. Most every station still has a couple of old VTRs sitting around, waiting for that low-budget paid commercial program or local car dealership spot to arrive. I've worked with 1", BetacamSP, S-VHS, and Hi-8, but I still prefer the bulky-but-reliable 3/4". Beta and S-VHS are great formats, but one's too expensive for the masses and the other, well actually I like S-VHS. The Hi-8 format, however, should disappear like the Type A 1" and give the world a lot less drop-out and quickly-worn heads. This is only my opinion and it endorces only what you read into it. If you've got a different opinion, then take it to the forum page and state your mind.
