  • Tamara V. Ford :// Producer/Director
    Insurgent Cybergrrl a sus ordenes and your point person for this project. Skilled in the chaotic order of recombination, Tamara navigates the technology and political economy of alternative media communications. In April 1996, she was awarded a Rockefeller Intercultural Film/Video/Multimedia Fellowship in support of this project. Currently, she is directing production of the CD-ROM as an M.A. Candidate in Radio-TV-Film at the University of Texas at Austin.
  • Troy Dean Whitlock:// (a.k.a. smack) Creative and Technical Director
    The artistic force behind ZapNet's interactive design and techno-wizardry, Troy is an agent of multiple transformation. (See his theoretical work on simulation and liberation). A teacher, web-designer, and multimedia author/director, his recent works include What Is This Thing? and The Shaman's Journey. Currently, he works his magic at Human Code.
  • Jeffrey Bekes://, (aka Jef) Associate Director and Editor
    Articulator of multiple discourse and irreverent media pirate, Jef has conducted research and written analysis for the project. He brings a knowledge of social movements in Latin America, and has done extensive work with alternative media in Brazil. Currently he is a press agent for this project and works as a web designer in San Francisco.
  • Genève Gil:// Associate Director
    She is developing content on women's and indigenous issues and is a technical advisor for multimedia design and lingo programming. She is part of the webteam at the Latin American Network Information Center, an online research center housed at UT Austin's Institute for Latin American Studies. Genève is an M.A. Candidate in Latin American Studies with a concentration in interaction design in the Radio-Television-Film department. She travelled to Zapatista territory as a representative of the ZapNet Collective in April of 1996.

  • Accion Zapatista:// a network of academics and activists providing information services and interdisciplinary analysis of the Zapatista struggle and its connections to social movements and political theory.
  • Erik Smartt:// a lingo and worldwideweb programmer specializing in databases, he has worked professionally with Blue Parrot Interactive Media.
  • Tina Chia Ho:// a double-major in Computer Science and Radio-TV-Film, she contributes her coding mastery and conceptual strategies to the work.
  • Ryan Junell:// (a.k.a. frehley), master of the WWW (wild, wacky and weird), and creative force behind our animations (Durito) and interactive adventures (Where in the Hell is Carlos Salinas).
  • Ana Pantin:// (aka Anita), a computer graphic artist from Caracas, Venuzuela and a visiting scholar at the Institute for Latin American Studies, contributing animation graphics to the work.
  • Lucia Grossberger Morales:// multimedia artist and hybrid nomad, she is creating interactive modules and animations for the CD-ROM.
  • Alan Watts:// A little boy with a big computer, he is the Icon Designer for the CD-ROM.
