RAND researchers say that cyberwar "refers to conducting, and preparing to conduct, military operations according to information-related principles" and "trying to know everything about an adversary while keeping the adversary from knowing much about oneself." Essentially, cyberwar represents the integration of information technologies and warfare.
As in netwar, in cyberwar the forces of domination engage in both offensive hegemonic cyberwar and defensive hegemonic cyberwar. And the forces of resistance engage in both offensive counterhegemonic cyberwar and defensive counterhegemonic cyberwar.
